Equity and Racial Justice Center
Centering Justice. Building Equity. Transforming Communities.
Expanded Equity Statement:
The Equity and Racial Justice Center is committed to advancing a future where all individuals and communities have equitable access to opportunity, resources, and well-being, regardless of race, ethnicity, or lived experience. We recognize that systemic racism and historical inequities continue to shape disparities across health, housing, education, and economic mobility. Our work is grounded in dismantling these barriers through intentional action, inclusive practices, and sustained accountability, while applying a culturally responsive, equitable, and social justice lens to how we design, deliver, and evaluate our efforts.
We move beyond a basic understanding of equity by intentionally viewing our work through this lens, ensuring that we not only acknowledge disparities but actively address them in ways that are responsive to the communities we partner. We center the voices and leadership of those most impacted by inequity, recognizing individuals and communities as the experts of their own lives and experiences. This includes meeting people where they are in their equity and racial justice journey and creating space for growth, dialogue, and shared learning.
Through partnerships, capacity-building, and advocacy, we strive to create systems that are not only more inclusive but also just, responsive, and transformative. Equity is not a one-time goal but an ongoing commitment that requires continuous reflection, learning, and action to build a fairer and more liberated society for all.
Diversity Statistics and Goals
The Equity and Racial Justice Center is committed to transparency and accountability in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of our work. We actively track and analyze demographic data to understand who we are reaching, who is represented in our workforce and partnerships, and where disparities persist.
Current Snapshot (illustrative framework):
We collect and review data across key areas, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, geographic location, and professional role. This includes:
- Workforce and leadership representation
- Training and technical assistance participants
- Partner and community-based organizations engaged
- Communities served, with attention to underserved and rural populations
Our analysis helps identify gaps in representation and access, particularly among Black, Indigenous, Latino/a/e, and other historically marginalized communities disproportionately impacted by systemic inequities. Click below to take a deep dive into the data.

Equity Goals:
We move beyond a basic understanding of diversity by intentionally applying a culturally responsive, equitable, and social-justice lens to all aspects of our work. At the OLRC, we prioritize supporting and engaging participants as the experts of their own lives and experiences. This means meeting individuals and organizations where they are in their equity and racial justice journey, while creating pathways for growth, reflection, and meaningful change.
To operationalize this commitment, we have established measurable goals to:
- Increase representation of historically marginalized groups in leadership, advisory roles, and subject matter expert networks
- Expand outreach and engagement in under-resourced and rural communities
- Ensure all programs are accessible through diverse modalities and culturally responsive approaches
- Strengthen partnerships with community-based and culturally specific organizations
- Integrate lived experience as a core component of program design, delivery, and evaluation
- Build capacity across varying levels of equity and racial justice understanding, from foundational awareness to advanced practice
Accountability and Continuous Improvement:
We commit to regularly reviewing our data, setting benchmarks, and reporting progress. This includes using feedback from participants and partners to refine our strategies and ensure our efforts are not only inclusive but also transformative. By aligning our data with intentional action and grounding our work in cultural responsiveness and social justice, we aim to move beyond representation toward lasting, systemic change that meaningfully advances equity and racial justice.
