Areas of Focus

The focus areas outlined below demonstrate how we support the successful implementation of OLRC's mission across Illinois. Each area is designed to build capacity, enhance workforce development, and ensure equitable, evidence-based training and technical assistance, guided by what we’ve learned from our partners, subrecipients, subject matter experts, and those we serve across our many Illinois communities.

Administration Oversight:

We believe meaningful work starts with clear communication and shared expectations. That's why we begin every partnership with a virtual kick-off meeting. This creates space for alignment and connection from the very beginning.

Before we build any program, we partner with providers and community organizations across Illinois, prioritizing underserved communities, to understand the root causes of issues on the ground. Through targeted surveys and meaningful focus groups, our comprehensive needs assessment identifies barriers, audiences, needs, and training preferences.

This approach ensures every training and technical assistance opportunity we develop is grounded in real-world experiences. After all, the best solutions come from the communities doing the work. We just help make them happen.

Statewide Training & Technical Assistance:

To identify and meet the statewide TTA needs of providers and community organizations serving individuals affected by opioid misuse and co-occurring disorders, we start with a comprehensive needs assessment that targets disproportionately impacted communities. This assessment defines and drives the curation of our TTA plan.

Professional Workforce Development:

We want to invest in people. To achieve this, we facilitate Clinical Supervision Activities (CSA) and Paid Training Experiences (PTE), engage qualified experts, and establish partnerships. The goal is to support workforce growth and expand access to high-quality training and supervision.
